Ned Roosevelt lives in Clinton, Connecticut. He writes Connecticut Off Market — a monthly market read and a set of plain-language guides to the six shoreline towns between Guilford and Old Lyme. He also runs the Shoreline Home Guide on Instagram.
I live in Clinton, in the middle of the six towns this list covers. Connecticut Off Market started for a simple reason: I wanted to know this stretch of coast properly, and I wanted to be useful to the people who live on it.
Why I started this
Two things. The first is that I wanted to be genuinely connected to this community — not to observe it, but to know the towns, the streets and the people in them well enough to be worth asking. Writing these town guides has been a large part of how I have gone about that.
The second is that buying or selling a home on the Shoreline is a confusing, high-stakes process, and a lot of people go through it with less straight information than they deserve. Explaining that process plainly, before anyone is in the middle of it, is the work I’m training toward.
Common questions
What is Connecticut Off Market, then?
A monthly read and a set of plain-language guides to the six shoreline towns between Guilford and Old Lyme: what homes have been selling for, how a move here works, and what each town is like. It does not list homes, represent anyone, or connect buyers and sellers.
